End Fascination
This is an excerpt from Chapter Four of "Mya"--and excerpt and personal philosophy.
"Mya shook her head—people want to believe so badly in the end. Lives are so pillowy, and so buried in routine—like a comfortable prison. And like Plato’s cave, they know there’s something else out there, but there’s no way through the darkness. So they lie to themselves about their morbid interest, craving vivid shake-ups, conspiracies, world-ending events, unable to imagine their own bodies burning in it."
